Peter Knight's Allotrope

Allotrope is a solo project from multidisciplinary Melbourne composer and trumpeter Peter Knight (solo trumpet, prepared flugel horn, laptop electronics, pedals, guitar amplifier)

Using live sampling and processing of micro sound worlds, stretched and squashed using Ableton Live, Peter’s solo work continues, albeit tangentially, his preoccupation with space, understatement, and long form structure and draws inspiration from diverse sources. Peter recently won the Most Original Australian Jazz album award  at the 2012 Bell awards for Fish Boast of Fishing.  www.peterknightmusic.com .
