Punctum and Undue Noise are thrilled to give you an opportunity to experience (or re-visit) recent highlights from this innovative chamber music group.

Formed in 2007, Golden Fur engage with contemporary classical music in youthfully iconoclastic style, adding volume, volatility and theatricality by means of built instruments, electronics, amplification and computers. Focusing on more obscure contemporary and 20th Century music, this trio has performed at many major Festivals and events including Melbourne International Arts Festivl and Chamber Music Australia, and has just concluded its second season of exciting new works by young Australian composers.

The trio (Samuel Dunscombe (clarinet/laptop), Judith Hamann (cello), James Rushford (keyboards/viola)) will present an exciting program of innovative Australian works commissioned by them, adding computers and carving knives to conventional acoustic instruments, as well as a piece written specially for cochlear implant users. These contrast nicely with a wonderfully delicate piece from the 80s by Sciarrino

“Stunning contemporary classical interpretations…Golden Fur are changing the shape of chamber music without forsaking its roots.” The Age, December 20, 2008
